Sasha FitzHerbert is an Irish contemporary artist currently based in Dublin. As a recent graduate from the National College of Art and Design, with a BFA International degree in Media, her exploration spans from film and video to photography, painting, installation, and sculpture. Sasha’s work serves as a reflection of introspective thoughts and inquiries inspired by personal experiences. While themes surrounding the fundamentals of existence are central to her work, she aims to prompt viewers to engage in a dialogue with her creations.
Specifically interested in the exploration of identity through encounters with both the tangible and intangible worlds, the artist's work delves into the significance of light, movement, sound, and their interconnected relationship with the body and the spaces we inhabit. Within Sasha’s artistic journey, the impact of light on perception and expression has always been a source of inspiration. From the interplay of shadows to refractions of rays, light has served as both medium and muse in her practice.
Driven by a deep-seated curiosity and a desire to unravel the enigmatic nature of sensory phenomena, Sasha hopes to not only engage viewers on a sensory level but also to provoke contemplation and introspection of the boundaries between reality and illusion — the seen and the unseen.
